Privacy Policy

Summary

  • Wandrly is a local-first travel diary. Your diaries and media are stored on your device by default.
  • If you enable Google Drive backup, your backup is uploaded to your own Google Drive appDataFolder (a hidden app folder).
  • Wandrly may use third-party services (Google Sign-In/Drive, Firebase services, map providers, Klipy stickers) which may process limited data needed to provide their service.

Information we handle

Content you create

Wandrly lets you create diaries and memories, including photos, text, drawings, notes, and stickers. This content is stored locally on your device unless you choose to back it up.

Media access

Wandrly may request access to photos/videos on your device to let you import media into your diaries and memories.

Backups (optional)

If you enable Google Drive backup, Wandrly uploads your backup bundle to your Google Drive application data folder (appDataFolder). This folder is managed by Google and is not shown in your normal Drive files list.

App usage analytics (if enabled)

Wandrly may use Firebase Analytics to understand app performance and usage. Firebase Analytics may collect device and usage information as defined by Google (for example: app interactions, device identifiers, and approximate location derived from IP).

Network requests

Wandrly may connect to the internet for features such as:

  • Google Sign-In and Google Drive backup/restore
  • Map styles/tiles loaded from map providers
  • Sticker search via Klipy and loading sticker images
  • Opening web pages in your browser (for example, this Privacy Policy)

External links

The app may open web pages in your browser (for example, this Privacy Policy). When you visit a web page, the website and its hosting provider may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and the time of your request in order to serve the page. If you follow links to third-party websites, their privacy practices apply.

This Privacy Policy is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google).

How we use information

  • To provide core app functionality (diaries, memories, map views)
  • To back up and restore your data when you request it
  • To maintain and improve app stability and performance (if analytics is enabled)

Sharing

Wandrly does not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed to provide features you use:

  • Google: for Sign-In and Drive backup/restore
  • Klipy: for sticker search requests and loading sticker images
  • Map providers: for loading map styles/tiles
  • Firebase: for analytics (if enabled)

Data retention

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Google Drive backups remain in your Google Drive until you delete them. Wandrly may keep up to 5 backups depending on your settings/usage.

Your choices

  • You can use Wandrly without enabling Google Drive backup.
  • You can delete diaries/memories in the app, and you can delete backups from within the app.
  • You can uninstall the app to remove local data stored on your device.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Backups stored in Google Drive are protected by your Google account security settings.

Children

Wandrly is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will work to address the issue.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
